At the end, both of my kids said they would have liked the chance to paddle more but they both loved it and would do it again. Even though the water was very cold, it felt good as it was 95 that day. We also had a chance to stand on the nose of the boat while our guide spun the boat throwing us off into the cold water. My 11 year old son was smiling ear to ear through the rapids - that alone was worth the entire trip! The last 2/3 of the trip is mostly floating though we did "ride the bull" (sit at the nose) through some small rapids. The first 1/3 of the rafting is the class III rapids so the excitement is all at the beginning. We were all so glad we went as it turned out to be a highlight of our entire Colorado vacation. My 13 year old daughter was very nervous about the class III rapids so we almost skipped the rafting trip. My family of four (kids ages 11 & 13) went on the half day trip.
